Buy Tom Junod’s New Book
Today’s the day I’ve been waiting for. My writing hero, Tom Junod, finally put his book, In The Days of My Youth I Was Told What It Means To Be a Man, out into the world.

I went to a local bookstore and was disappointed not to see it on nonfiction table. I purchased a cookbook — a birthday gift that I’d come there to find — and walked out the door.
In the window, a book case displayed new releases to passersby. There it was, with a gold “Signed First Edition” sticker on it. I promptly pulled a U-turn, went back to the counter, asked for the book in the window and made my second purchase in five minutes.
Then, just for good measure, I bought it as an audiobook. To say I’m excited for this book is an understatement.
Another great writer, Tommy Tomlinson, interviewed Junod for his newsletter, The Writing Shed.
I thought his questions were so sharp and Junod’s answers so thoughtful that I just had to share it here:
