The Alaska Chronicles: Shipping Out
It’s felt nearly impossible to blog nightly. The days stretch on forever. I look up to see the time, guestimating based on the relative darkness outside, and whoopsie, it’s already 11 p.m. “No wonder I’m so tired,” I think. And after that it’s shortly to bed.
But now the pace will change. I’m sitting in the Anchorage airport waiting to ride down to Whittier to get on the cruise ship this evening. With the increased free time, I hope to more thoughtfully reflect on what’s been an amazing week in Alaska already.
It’s surely the mark of a good trip when you could leave at the midway point and still consider it a rousing success. That’s where I am now. If we were at this airport to catch a flight home instead of a ship for another week of sights and experiences, I’d be a happy camper.
That’s the awe of Alaska for you.

More to come soon.
